Sex, Menopause, and Sexual Health: A Pause to Action Event

Last night I attended a Pause to Action event about menopause and “The Bedroom Gap.” It was in Newport Beach, which is a trek, especially at rush hour. I had planned on carpooling but then my L’Atelier sex coaching student needed to drive separately.

I thought about cancelling, even though I’d bought a ticket. I’d already been to one networking event that day. But like most times I don’t feel like going to events, almost bail… I’m glad I didn’t. It was awesome!!!

I saw people from the conference I was at last month, where I found out about the event. We all got a cute gift bag with the book, “The Bedroom Gap.” By @mariasophecles.

I met people I wasn’t expecting. It was exciting to see a packed house of women and one brave/smart man in the New Port Theater.

The conversation was all about the things I talk about everyday. It invigorates me to hear other people, especially doctors talking about it. I was proud to share, Every question asked I knew the answer to. I am not a doctor.. but damn I know a lot and am often in the same trainings, learning the same things, albeit through a different lens… a lens that I believe is more relatable.

Some highlights….

  • Women are tired of 25 + years of missionary sex without foreplay and variation
  • Women are over being basic in bed, especially when he rolls over and falls asleep after sex (ladies… I had this happen last week and I WILL NEVER BE SEEING HIM AGAIN)
  • Sex and intimacy are difficult to discuss
  • Women don’t want to hurt men’ s feelings
  • It’s just easier to do it and get it over with, than to talk about it
  • We Talk about everything else, but not that is sex is or isn’t good
  • It is hard for women to do something for themselves
  • People who have poor sleep eat 250 more calories/day and orgasms are good for sleep
  • Sex Ed needs to be reformed to include, mutual pleasure, consent, communication, and so much more

And thiswhat I strive to get women to see every day… When there is a gap in bedroom, there is a gap in every area of life. When you are turned back on you feel like dancing, everything is better in life, in business, and you show up as your best self! Before… ‘Everything in life was meh but after libido was turned back on…I was lit up’ (que my tag line, “Take Your Life from Meh to Marvelous!”
